Maity Interiano is the On-Air talent and entertainment reporter for Univision Network’s No. 1 rated national live morning show, “Despierta América” (Wake Up America), where she covers entertainment news. She is also the host of “Maity on the Road” for Univision.com; the online show gives viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the reporter’s experiences when on the road to cover an assignment.
In addition, Interiano has served as Univision’s red carpet correspondent for events like “Premios Juventud” youth awards, “Premio lo Nuestro” Latin music awards, “Latin GRAMMY® Awards”, “Nuestra Belleza Latina” (Our Latin Beauty), Rose Parade 2015 and many more.
The Honduran-born reporter was honored at the 2014 Televisa and Premios TV y Novelas Awards as “Mejor Conductora, Favorita del Publico” (Best Reporter and Crowd Favorite).
Interiano has produced interviews with international celebrities like Vin Diesel, Tony Bennett, Johnny Depp, Angelina Jolie, George Clooney, Salma Hayek, Sofia Vergara, Ricky Martin, Shakira, Alejandro Fernández, Antonio Banderas, Cameron Diaz, among others. Her work spans to producing segments with internationally acclaimed soccer athletes. In June 2013 she was assigned to cover the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup in Brazil for Univision Deportes and in 2014, the FIFA World Cup in Brasil.
In April 2011 she covered from London the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton for “Escándalo TV” (Scandalous TV) and “La Tijera” (The Scissors) on the TeleFutura Newtork (now UniMás). In 2012 she covered the Golden Globes for “Tómbola” and the Oscars for “Despierta América”.
After graduating in 2006 from Elon University in North Carolina, Interiano was the associate producer and reporter for “Escándalo TV” and produced a weekly segment called “Vamos al Cine” (Let’s Go to the Movies) through October of 2011.
She is a true believer in helping the Latin community; Interiano donates her time to Fundación Amor y Vida (Love and Life Foundation), providing comprehensive care to children and adolescents affected by HIV/AIDS. She also participates annually in Teletón México and Teletón U.S.A. fundraisers.
